Operations
Section titled “Operations”Owlfy provides two primary ways to interact with your computer: Voice Interaction and Text Interaction. Choose the method that best fits your current situation.
Voice Interaction
Section titled “Voice Interaction”The voice key is the core of Owlfy’s interaction model. It supports two distinct modes depending on how you press it.
Voice Key Operations
Section titled “Voice Key Operations”| Operation | Function | When to Use |

| Click | Launch Voice Input | When you want to dictate text into the current input field |
| Hold | Launch task execution | When you want Owlfy to perform an action (Sonic Execution or AI Assistant) |
Default Voice Keys:
- Windows:

Fnkey orMouse wheel
You can customize the voice key in Settings → General.
Click: Voice Input
Section titled “Click: Voice Input”Use this when: You want to enter text by speaking.
How it works:
- Click the voice key
- Start speaking
- Click again to end
- Owlfy applies role polishing
- Text appears at your cursor position
Example:

Section titled “Hold: Task Execution”Use this when: You want Owlfy to do something for you.
How it works:
- Hold the voice key
- Speak your request
- Release the voice key
- Owlfy interprets and executes
For quick tasks (Sonic Execution):
[Hold] "Open Chrome and search for React documentation" [Release]→ Chrome opens with search resultsFor complex tasks (AI Assistant):
[Hold] "Summarize the PDFs in my Downloads folder and email me the summary" [Release]→ AI Assistant plans and executes the multi-step taskVoice Key + Mouse Wheel
Section titled “Voice Key + Mouse Wheel”If you enable “Mouse wheel as voice key” in Settings:

This is especially useful when your hands are already on the mouse.
Text Interaction
Section titled “Text Interaction”When speaking is inconvenient — in a library, during a meeting, or late at night — use the text command bar.
Text Command Bar
Section titled “Text Command Bar”Trigger:
- macOS:
Option + Space - Windows:
Ctrl + Space
How it works:
- Press the shortcut
- A text input bar appears
- Type your request
- Press Enter
- Owlfy executes (equivalent to holding the voice key)

Voice Key Customization
Section titled “Voice Key Customization”- Open Owlfy Settings
- Go to General
- Find Keyboard Voice Key
- Press the key you want to use
- The change is saved automatically
You can also:
- Enable/disable Mouse wheel as voice key
- Change the Text command bar shortcut
- Change the Screenshot shortcut
Tips for Best Results
Section titled “Tips for Best Results”Speaking to Owlfy
Section titled “Speaking to Owlfy”- Be natural: Use plain language — no need to memorize commands
- Be specific: “Open Chrome and go to github.com” works better than “Open browser”
- Pause naturally: Owlfy understands natural speech patterns
- Use context: If text is selected, Owlfy knows to process it
Typing to Owlfy
Section titled “Typing to Owlfy”- Same language: Type the same way you’d speak
- Be concise: Text input works best with clear, direct requests
- Use Enter: Press Enter to submit; Shift+Enter for a new line
